Dateline: Cottage Hills Rowdy D. McNealy, 61, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital. He was born on September 8, 1960, in Wood River, IL, the son of Vernon M. and Norma J. (Chamberlain) McNealy. He married Pamela K. Wood on August 12, 1989, in Wood River. Rowdy was employed at Bethalto Star where he was a master technician. He was a member of the Corvette Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, going to car shows, and spending time with his family and friends. Along with his wife, Pam, he is survived by his mother, Norma; his four puppies, Taz, Remington, Pork Chop, and Toby; a brother, Mark (Terri) McNealy of Bethalto; brother-in-law, Michael (Cindy) Wood of O’Fallon, MO; nieces and nephews, Mark (Elizabeth) McNealy, Jr., Casey (April) McNealy of Mt. Olive, Candice Anderson of Lake St. Louis, Anneliese (Kevin) Matzker of St. Charles, and Nikki (Brennan) Longwell of Lake St. Louis; and great-nieces and nephews, Madison, Ryleigh, Bentley, Avery, Carsyn, Ayden, Cheyenne, Madison, Emma, Ava, baby boy Colton who is on the way, Anniston, Gwen, Alba, Brair, and Bellamy. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon; and his father and mother-in-law, Edgar and Margot Wood. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 4 to 7 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 10 am. Pastor Matthew McNealy will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Alton. Memorial can be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
