Roger L. Ringering

Dateline: Bethalto, IL Roger L. Ringering, 86, of Bethalto, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Alton Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on May 19, 1936, in Alton, IL, the son of Emil L. and Mable L. (Hendricks) Ringering. He married Mary Jo Heimer on December 9, 1983, in Joplin, MO. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2013. Roger was a salesman for over 60 years working most recently at Vinylplex and Sanderson Pipe. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and continued working up until 3 weeks ago. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. He is survived by his children, Bob and Julia Ringering of Bethalto and Janet Shewmake and Don Gillam of Wood River; a stepdaughter, Connie Jo (Havens) Donohoo of Independence, MO; a sister, Mary Lou (Norris) Dorsey; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Along with his parents and wife, Mary Jo; he was preceded in death by father and mother-in-law, William and Dallas (Jacobs) Heimer; and 2 sons-in-law, Jack Kelly Donahoo and Greg Shewmake. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, from 9 am until service at 11 am, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor John Pawloski will officiate, and burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials can be made to St. John’s UCC of Wood River and/or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
