Lila Mae Lind

August 6, 1938 - January 18, 2022

Dateline: Golden Eagle Lila Mae Lind (Zahrli), 83, originally of Golden Eagle passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022 at Jerseyville Hospital. She was born at home in Golden Eagle to Clarence “Pud” and Edna Mae (Dixon) Zahrli. She married Richard L. Pohlman in 1965 in Brussels, IL. To this marriage Richard and Lila had three sons: Darren (Shelly) Pohlman of Hardin,IL; Duane (Natalie) Pohlman of Murrieta, CA; and Daryl (Tammy) Pohlman of Waverly, IA. Richard passed away in 1983. Lila later married Frank “Bud” Logeman in 1988 in Florida. He passed away in 1991. Lila married John Lind in 1997 in Alton, IL. John passed away in 2010. She graduated from Brussels High School in 1956 and shortly thereafter began working for Ralston Purina in St. Louis until 1965 when she married Richard and became a homemaker. After Richard’s death, Lila worked various jobs at St. Mary’s School, South County Library and Alton Memorial Sales. She and Bud enjoyed many trips traveling across the county during their short time together. Lila and John spent their time together traveling and camping. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed going to dances on the weekends. In addition to her sons, Lila is survived by her sister Margie Bertman and niece, Laura (Jeff) Johnson and their children Matthew and Bryan Johnson, all of Wesley Chapel, FL; grandchildren Sarah Pohlman of Hardin, IL; Erika and Lauren Pohlman of San Marcos, CA; and Colin Pohlman of Waverly, IA. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21 from 8 – 10 a.m. at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels. Mass services at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with Fr. Don Roberts officiating. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Cemetery or family choice.
